Avaleigh,
Today was your last day of Pre-K, year one. Dear, you have grown so much this first year. It is simply amazing. Your speech is getting better, you know all of your ABC’s, you love to play outside, and you love the iPhone and iPad. It has amazed me how well you have done.
I can remember being scared on the first day. Dear, you never cried all year. NEVER. You might have because you were mad at me for not letting you wear a shirt or pants that you wanted…or because we didn’t have any fruity pebbles, but you were so brave this year.
Brave….
Trying new things, doing difficult things, trying over and over…you, my dear, have some persistence in you. Some grit….
Those are pretty big words for such a little girl. You didn’t cry when we left you, you would do things you never tried when others were scared, you have handled the loss of your Paw amazingly (both of you have). In Tee Ball, you might struggle a little bit, but you always jump right out there and give it a go. Whoever we go to new places or do new things, you just jump right in there. Just last weekend, we went to a birthday party that had a big waterslide. You know what you did? You hopped in line, climbed to the top, and slide down. Over and over, again.
You amaze me.
Know what is even more amazing?
Both of you will be in the same Pre-K class next year. Y’all are gonna give them hell….
Love you today, tomorrow, and always….
Daddy
