I can’t even begin to tell you how hard the last month of my life has been. There have been so many things that have gone on and I have felt so overwhelmed, so tired. It’s times like these that I wonder if I’m in the right position. It’s just been so much.
Paw had a stroke about a month ago and then had another health scare a few weeks ago. There have been so many situation at work, too many to name. I’ve wanted to just throw my hands up and walk off. Now, I’m about two hours away from going to coach basketball practice (one day you will understand the severity of that sentence).
Here is what I want you to know….
There are three things you have to do in this life.
- Work hard- Willingness to work revels character. If you are on the job and not giving 100%, you are stealing. Some people will turn up their sleeves and get after it, some will turn up their noses. Some…well, some won’t even be seen. Work. If it is close to your responsibility, you help with it. If it is something you supervise, you make sure it gets done. Standing off to the side and saying it wasn’t my job or saying someone else was supposed to do it is a cowardly way to live.
- Care for others- This life is about giving. That’s it. Give yourself to others. Sacrifice for others. I know that most of the people you see won’t be like this. But don’t look like the world, look like Jesus. You can’t outgive Jesus, but when you give so others can receive. Give. Over the past couple of year, I have learned that being “rich” doesn’t involve money. It involves giving love to as many people as you can.
- Pray. Pray about everything. Pray many times a day. God hears you.
When you do these things, know that it won’t be easy. Not by a long shot….but these three choice will cause you do things bigger than who you are…and will add meaning to your life. Most importantly, it will add meaning to the lives that surround you.
