We just wrapped up Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas…my favorite time of year. It has always been my favorite, but even more so now that I have the two of you.
Halloween was so much fun. Lindley, you had the best costume. You were an inflatable dragon. It was so cute. We laughed and laughed. Avaleigh, you threw a fit to be a Fort Night character….AGAIN. You love Fort Nite, but you have never played. We went to Nanna’s house, we went to a church’s trunk or treat, and we went to Nannaw’s house because that is where Gigi was. It was a great time. When it was over, we had pizza and ate candy. Nanna went with us….and it was the best time.
Thanksgiving was unbelievable! For the first time, I was responsible for cooking and having Thanksgiving our house. So, we started cooking on Tuesday. Did you notice I said we? We means the three of us…it was a blast. We even tried to video it. Lindley, you helped…but I couldn’t get you to quit sticking your fingers in stuff!!!! Avaleigh, as picky as you are…I didn’t have to worry about you trying to eat the food. We cooked more on Wednesday…but Thanksgiving day….was magical. Yall were up at the rack of dawn. We watched the parade and some Christmas shows. One of my favorite things to do is to watch the parade with yall in my lap. Yall are in my lap, a lot, but watching something like the Macy’s parade makes it even better because I love the holidays so much.
Christmas was good, but I was mad. I wanted to spend Christmas in our new house. Everyone came to our house. The best part was that Nanny came. We all got to eat with her and just enjoy her company. It was special. We had a small feast, but ran into a little bit of an issue….well, a big issue.
The smoker I was using had a grease fire. Not just a little grease fire, but a pretty good size one. We thought we were going to have to call the fire department. Needless the say, the Christmas Turkey was….how should I say it….well done.
Christmas morning was as special as ever. We opened gifts, went to Nanna’s, yall loved on Uncle D and Aunt Shara, and just had an amazing time.
The older I get, the more I realize what the holiday s are all about. It isn’t about all of the presents around the tree, it is about all the people who are around it.
