When the Challenge Seems Too Large

Girls,

I don’t know what age you will be when you read this. I’m not sure what phase of life this moment will find you in…

Let me tell you the phase I’m in…

Challenges. There are challenges everywhere I turn. I run the school, I’m trying to help the town, I’m running youth sports, and I’m trying to help the church find a new pastor. The challenges are everywhere I turn. Each is so challenging for different reasons.

Be careful what you pray for….if you pray for God to use you in big situations, he will. If you pray to put you in position to help a school, he will. If you pray for God to help you fix a town that is falling apart, he will. When you find yourself in the situations that you ask for, you have to realize that the moment or the challenges are bigger than you. You can’t do it, all.

But try to do it all. Realize that there is a period of time that you pick up the baton and you run….and you run hard. That’s what you do when it is your turn. Remember that you asked God to use you…go be used.

The challenges are big. The challenges are hard.

When God wanted to make David a king, he didn’t send him money or favor…he sent Goliath.

Run to the battle.

It’s ok to be scared. It’s ok to be confused about what God is doing in your life. I feel like I take loss after loss after loss. You will, also! Ask God for strength. Ask for courage. God knows that you will need him. God knows that when he gives you that courage, you will need an opportunity to use that courage…and that happens in uncomfortable situations. God knows what you are capable of….just remind him. Let him know that you need him.

God is faithful. God will see it through with you.
